Video game developer Visceral Games and publisher Activision have revealed that they are planning big downloadable content deliveries for Battlefield Hardline, and now they are offering the first clear details about the Criminal Activity content, which will be introduced at some point in June.

The official announcement states, "Small crews of well-trained, aggressive criminals have been using force of arms to terrorize the citizenry and are in direct conflict with the police in many cases.  Public property damages and insurance claims have skyrocketed, not to mention the impact on the police force."

The four new maps that will be added to Battlefield Hardline when Criminal Activity arrives are named Backwoods, Code Blue, The Beat and Black Friday, and all of them are designed to be fast-paced and focus on close quarters engagements.

The shooter is also getting two new rides, more ammunition types for some weapons and a new gadget.

Fans of Battlefield Hardline will also be able to equip three innovative weapons, and a nailgun is also being added to the experience.

The fresh game mode for Criminal Activity is called Bounty Hunter, and there are six more masks for gamers to collect.

Presumably, in the coming weeks, Visceral Games will deliver more details on all the new content.

Battlefield Hardline will get four major DLC packs

Criminal Activity will be in early access in June, which probably means that only Premium subscribers will be able to play it for a few weeks before the rest of the fans get access to it.

The fact that Visceral Games is adding maps, weapons and a new mode means that there's a lot of content to attract fans of Battlefield Hardline, who might be getting bored with the current multiplayer experience.

There are plans to deliver four full DLC packs for the first-person shooter, one of which will be introduced in 2016.

Battlefield Hardline was launched in March and Electronic Arts says that it is satisfied with the sales generated since then.

The development studio usually associated with the series, DICE, is at the moment working on Star Wars Battlefront, and it seems that a new entry in the Battlefield continuity will be launched at some point in 2016.
