The first actual details about the first in the long line of new downloadable content for Battlefield Hardline have just appeared, with Visceral Games confirming the add-on called Criminal Activity brings four competitive maps are coming, including two night ones, not to mention new vehicles and more destruction.

Battlefield Hardline launched at the end of March and delivered a pretty good first-person shooter experience that took the general Battlefield franchise mechanics and adapted them for its special cops vs. criminals premise.

The result was a pretty innovative experience that currently commands a loyal following across PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One worldwide.

New details arrive about the Criminal Activity add-on

Now, the first details about the Criminal Activity DLC have arrived, as Visceral has started discussing the first proper add-on for Battlefield Hardline.

According to Multiplayer Producer Zach Mumbach, who talks with the Don't Revive Me Bro on Twitch, via MP1st, the new expansion brings, as always, four new maps, and two of them are completely new night levels, focusing on urban environments.

Mumbach emphasizes that the levels aren't taken from the single-player campaign and have varied sizes. However, fans shouldn't expect really big maps for the first couple of expansions, as those projects take a bit more time to create and test.

The new maps will also boast more destructible elements, and Mumbach adds that the team has done a better job of highlighting what can be destroyed and what remains standing even after multiple explosions.

Criminal Activity is set to debut this summer for Battlefield Hardline and Premium owners will get two weeks of early access, ahead of regular players.

Speaking of regular users, Mumbach also mentions that they'll get different new things over time, including the possibility to test out the new maps with a friend who has the Premium package already purchased.

Such a system is still in development, however, so don't expect it anytime soon.
