14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has offered a listing for the Battlefield Hardline open beta stage on its Xbox website, confirming the rumored February 3 start date, not to mention a few more details about its featured game modes and their mechanics.
Battlefield Hardline is the next major expansion in the series and developer Visceral Games wants to make quite a lot of different improvements to the general recipe, starting with the cops and criminals theme and continuing with special modes centered around this premise.
After organizing an early beta stage last summer, when it offered a select number of fans the chance to try out the new experience across platforms like PC or PS4, Visceral and publisher Electronic Arts decided to push back the release of Hardline from its targeted October window to March of 2015.
Now, as we get closer to the first month of spring, Visceral and EA are set to organize a second beta stage across most platforms. The beta has recently received some details but an actual start date hasn't been confirmed just yet.
Microsoft lists a February 3 debut date for the Hardline beta
Now, after a rumor earlier this week, Microsoft lists Battlefield Hardline on the Xbox website as an experience that's going to debut on February 3, matching the reported start date.
The entry also confirms a few more details about the test phase for Battlefield Hardline, discussing the new modes, in the form of Heist and Hotwire, as well as the presence of the classic Conquest.
First up, Heist is about pulling a major bank robbery for criminals and stopping it for the cops. Meanwhile, Hotwire sees criminals try to steal a list of marked cars while the cops are trying to repossess them. There's a big emphasis on driving vehicles and teamwork, as passengers should use their weapons to eliminate enemies easily.
Last but not least, classic Battlefield mode Conquest is also going to be present in the new beta and supports 24 players in this actual test phase on the Xbox 360 at least.
Expect an official confirmation for the February 3 date for the Battlefield Hardline beta this week.
