Sony Ericsson and EA Mobile, Electronic Arts division that focuses on games for mobile phones, have just announced a new partnership to deliver the highly-acclaimed Battlefield: Bad Company 2 game on Xperia PLAY devices.

Although the new partnership will extend to other titles in the near future, EA Mobile will initially offer access to one of the most popular modern warfare action games of all time, Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Unfortunately, the Android game will only be available on Xperia PLAY. However, it will take full advantage of the smartphone's graphic capabilities and game changing control pad.

Sony Ericsson's Xperia PLAY smartphone was built to bring players realistic, fast-paced gameplay to the Android operating system for the first time.

As Xperia PLAY becomes available in more markets across the world, the portfolio of games continues to grow and so we're delighted to announce the availability of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Xperia PLAY,” said, Dominic Neil-Dwyer, head of market development, Sony Ericsson.

Just like the PC title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Xperia PLAY will bring its best in class all-out warfare gameplay to the smartphone's users.

There are 14 single-player missions across five detailed battle zones, which will plunge players deep into the action.

In addition, no less than 14 weapons are available for players, ranging from a knife to rocket-propelled grenades capable of wreaking havoc on enemy forces.

To make the things even more interesting, the game lets players pilot the action through multiple vehicle types, including tanks and helicopters.

We aim to give consumers the best possible gaming experience on a smartphone and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Xperia PLAY is the latest title from EA to bring one of the most popular gaming franchises to our consumers. Watch this space for updates on more content coming,” concluded Dwyer.

Currently, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is available for download from all Xperia PLAY customers in all markets outside United States.
