A third of them will be linked to the PC, the rest to consoles

Arvind Bhatia, an analyst watching the video game industry for Sterne Agee, prognosticates that the coming Battlefield 4 will sell no less than 14 million units in total.

At the same time he believes that the shooter from developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts can share the market space with Call of Duty: Ghosts, the other high-profile shooter to launch in the fall.

Apparently, one third of the Battlefield 4 sales are linked to the PC while the Activision franchise will only deliver 10 percent of its own copies on the platform.

Battlefield 3 introduces the new Frostbite 3 engine and the development team plans to introduce an emotion-filled single-player story while also delivering the usual complex multiplayer, which now has Commander Mode.

Launch date is set for October 29 in the United States and November 1 in Europe.

Arvind Bhatia also says that he expected Grand Theft Auto V, the open-world action title from Rockstar, to have a limited influence on the two shooter because it launches in early September.

This gives hardcore gamers enough time to get the money they need to pick up Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Both the big shooter series have versions for the PC and current-gen consoles and they will also be launched on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 when they are out.

DICE and Infinity Ward are saying that the new hardware has allowed them to introduce improvements to the various gameplay mechanics and the level of graphics while also expanding the scope of social experiences associated with the games.

Battlefield 4 will have 64-player battles on next-generation consoles, something that’s impossible on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

DICE has also promised extensive post-launch support in order to keep players interested, with two DLC deliveries already rumored.
