Patrick Bach, the executive producer working on Battlefield 4, says that his DICE team is trying to introduce more cinematic elements and more interactivity to the single-player portion of the game, which was shown during the Game Developers Conference.

He tells Eurogamer that, “We're trying to build the Hollywood movie version of Battlefield in single-player while adding the interactive elements of multiplayer into single-player.”

He adds, “So you have the ultimate Battlefield multiplayer experience with the narrative added on top of it, that propels you through the story.”

The developer is trying to justify why the team did not give fans of the series a look at the multiplayer side of the game.

Battlefield 4 has been revealed via a 17-minute single-player-focused video that has left many fans puzzled about the direction of the franchise.
