Video game developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are planning another server restart for Battlefield 4, which might have an effect on the experience of players if they are planning to engage in multiplayer matches.

The information comes from the official Twitter account of the shooter, and the restart is set to take place at 9 AM Greenwich Mean Time or 2 AM Pacific Time and should not affect the video game for more than a few minutes.

DICE is not offering a clear reason for the move, but fans have long speculated that the infrastructure of the first-person shooter is being upgraded in order to support the coming major September update, designed to tweak some of the core mechanics and to improve the overall balance of weaponry.

The studio talked about it in August, but since then, it has not offered any update other than encouraging players to use the CTE and to offer feedback on the title.

A final downloadable content pack for Battlefield 4, called The Last Stand, has been announced as coming this fall, designed to take gamers to the Russian Arctic and to allow them to use a range of powerful and futuristic weapons and items.

The first of the new included maps is at the moment also available for testing.
