The development team at DICE has come under a lot of criticism for the single player reveal it has staged for its upcoming Battlefield 4, but Patrick Bach, the executive producer on the game, says that they were only trying to reveal a new focus on drama and emotion.

A new video sees the developer talking to Yasmin Evans and James Hill about the 17-minute Fishing in Baku trailer and about the way fans of the series should evaluate it.

The team says that, "player is not being locked in situations where things go 'Boom.' Players can be autonomous during these moments."

Bach also refused to confirm that the multiplayer side of Battlefield 4 would be shown during the coming E3 2013 event.

The first-person shooter will be launched on the PC, current-gen consoles, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft in the fall.
