Multiplayer servers should be more stable and less error-prone

Battlefield 4 developer DICE has just confirmed that it's rolling out a brand new server update (R10) for the PC version, which should solve quite a few different crashes and errors relating to the China Rising DLC that appeared after the debut of the first patch for the game on PC earlier today.

Battlefield 4 launched for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 late last month and, while plenty of fans were delighted with the first-person shooter experience, the game had quite a few different problems across all platforms but especially on the PC.

Developer DICE has acknowledged some issues with its new game and pledged to solve them, starting with the multiplayer servers that were prone to crashing due to different reasons.

Now, the tenth server update has just been released by the studio in order to fix some of the new crashes and error messages that have appeared since the rollout of the first Battlefield 4 client update earlier today.

"We are seeing a lot of server crashes at the moment. These are being solved by rolling out a new server patch on PC (Server Update R10). It will take a few hours for this new server version to propagate, but it should be with most servers in a matter of a couple of hours," the studio said on the Battlelog forums.

"If you are getting error messages referring to the China Rising expansion pack when trying to join a multiplayer server, please try another server. This error will only appear if a server has not yet updated from server version R9 to R10."

DICE is working hard on future updates for both the game's client and its online servers. Patches for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game should also appear in the near future.

As of yet, it's unclear if the PS4 and Xbox One versions will launch later this month with this update included.
