The event is designed to counter a similar move from Call of Duty: Ghosts

The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are launching a double experience event for their first-person shooter Battlefield 4, allowing all those who are playing the title to level up their characters faster.

This, in turn, means that they can get access to the extra options and content that come with higher levels, and the announcement could improve the overall players numbers for the title.

The statement is also a reaction to the one suggesting that Call of Duty: Ghosts is introducing a double XP event for the same period.

Recently, DICE has also talked about its long-term plans for Battlefield 4, saying that it currently plans to use the feedback that was offered by players via the Community Test Environment in order to improve the netcode for the title, change the way the ballistic shield works and improve the experience in Rush.

The studio is getting ready to launch the new Dragon's Teeth downloadable content pack for the first-person shooter, which will introduce four new maps to the game, and later in the summer another piece of DLC will be added.

Battlefield Hardline will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, and current-gen consoles on October 28 of this year.
