As promised, Electronic Arts and DICE revealed the first multiplayer details for Battlefield 4, hosting a massive live demonstration of the online mode in the new game, while posting lots of new info about mechanics like the Commander Mode, and even screenshots.

Battlefield 4 is one of EA's biggest upcoming games and, after showing off different single-player moments from the shooter in the last few months, the multiplayer mode was highlighted at E3 2013.

During the press conference, DICE brought a huge number of players to demonstrate a Battlefield 4 multiplayer match on a special map called Siege.

During the live demo, the studio explained a special new mechanic called Levolution, which practically means that the multiplayer map can change depending on the actions of the players. These changes range from opening up new pathways to even blowing up huge skyscrapers.

"Only in Battlefield will you experience the intensity of Levolution, dynamically changing the environment by cutting the power to a building and shrouding your enemies in darkness or reducing a skyscraper to rubble."

"Only in Battlefield will you lead a naval assault from the back of a gun boat. Battlefield grants you the freedom to do more and be more while playing to your strengths and carving your own path to victory."

Battlefield 4's multiplayer also marks the return of the Commander Mode, which allows players to turn the tide of battle using both their actual gaming equipment, like the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, but also from mobile devices like tablets.
