Securities law firm Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP has launched a complaint that’s designed to lead to a class action against video game publisher Electronic Arts over the problems that Battlefield 4 has been having since launch.

The legal action is registered in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California on behalf of Ryan Kelly and all others who have bought stock in EA between July 24 and December 4 of this year.

The law firm alleges that the company and its leaders knew about the problems that Battlefield 4 had but did not disclose them in order to make sure that its stock price did not go down.

John Reseburg, senior director of corporate communications at Electronic Arts, tells Gamasutra that, “We believe these claims are meritless. We intend to aggressively defend ourselves, and we’re confident the court will dismiss the complaint in due course.”
