The development team at DICE have just launched The Final Stand downloadable content for Battlefield 4 and they are eager to offer more information on it to the community, with the upcoming ESL One eSports finals offering a perfect opportunity.

The organizers are announcing in an official post that David Sirland, who is a live producer working on the multiplayer side of the first-person shooter, will be present in Cologne, Germany, and will watch the matches taking place, while also appearing on streams in order to deliver talks on a variety of subjects.

The topics up for discussion include the future of Battlefield 4, the core new ideas introduced in The Final Stand, and the way the Community Test Environment is being used to make the experience better.

DICE will also talk about the obliteration competitive mode and about the new matchmaking prototype.

Questions asked by the community will also be submitted to David Sirland, who will answer as many of them as possible.

The organizers at the ESL One add that eight of the best teams in the world will fight for the big prize on both Saturday and Sunday.

David Sirland states, “I’m excited to be a part of the ESL One Finals once again to witness the Battlefield 4 competition at its highest level. The competitive scene is an area that we want to continue to grow in and one that I am most passionate about. I want to say thank you to the fans who enjoy playing our game and I look forward to crowning the winners.”

Tickets for the ESL One event are free.

Battlefield 4 will continue to evolve

The Final Stand was supposed to be the final piece of DLC for Battlefield 4, but rumors are suggesting that gamers might get another content drop at some point in early 2015.

Regardless of whether that’s true or not, gamers will be able to get more updates, all of them first tested in the CTE.

At the same time, DICE is helping Visceral Games to put the finishing touches on Battlefield Hardline, the cops versus robbers shooter designed to arrive in March.

The game was delayed so that both the single and the multiplayer get a range of new mechanics.

The company is also working on Star Wars Battlefront, its major new title which is supposed to be offered in the fall of next year on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.
