Neither developer DICE nor publisher Electronic Arts is ready to talk about the exact nature of Battlefield 4, but it seems that more executives inside the companies are willing to acknowledge the existence of the game.

Frank Gibeau, the president of the EA Labels division, states in an official blog post, “At a GameStop company meeting earlier this week, we gave 500 store managers a sneak peak at Battlefield 4.”

He adds, “The game received a huge ovation and thousands of fans reacted to a single enthusiastic Tweet by GameStop’s CEO.”

Battlefield 4 seems to be currently headed for a 2014 launch on next-gen home consoles and on the PC and DICE will probably first show the game during E3 2013 or another trade event.

The game will use Frostbite 2 and will expand the limits of the first-person shooter experience.
