DICE has just revealed a lot more details about its upcoming Battlefield 4 beta, confirming that the test stage, which launches next week, will provide valuable feedback for the studio and give fans the chance to try out one of the most recent versions of the game.

Battlefield 4 is set to debut next month and, as always, DICE is organizing a special beta stage that will allow fans to try out parts of the multiplayer mode ahead of launch.

The Battlefield 4 beta kicks off on October 1 for a select number of players, including those who have Battlefield 3 Premium, those who bought the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition, or those who got the Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition on PC.

After three days, on October 4, the beta will open to anyone who wants to try it out on PC, PS3, or Xbox 360.

DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson wrote a special article on the official blog about the test phase to explain to fans the importance of the test.

"While the release of Battlefield 4 is relatively close, I wanted to underline that this is, in every respect, a true Beta test. We still have time to implement changes based on your feedback. Some of these changes will happen in time for launch; some feedback will be addressed after launch in our extensive ongoing support of the game."

"As long-term fans will know, we are also passionate about tweaking and balancing gameplay based on player feedback once the game is live – expect our commitment for Battlefield 4 to be equally strong. We take pride in listening to our fans so do make yourself heard."

What's more, Troedsson also emphasized that there would be outages, server resets, and different issues during the beta, so fans shouldn't worry about any problems.

He also confirmed that, in addition to the PunkBuster anti-cheating system that has already been employed in Battlefield 3, it's going to add the FairFight engine from Gameblocks to better protect the multiplayer from nefarious players.

The Battlefield 4 beta will end on October 14 across all platforms.
