Battlefield 3 may have just had its release date blown wide open by its publisher, Electronic Arts, as the company's PC download manager has pinned to the game a surprisingly precise November 2 launch date.

Battlefield 3 has received quite a lot of details in the last few weeks, with the EA's DICE studio releasing three gameplay videos with stunning graphics that surprised even its rivals.

Now, it seems that EA has revealed the game's release date a bit ahead of schedule, with its download manager program, discovered by CVG, showing a release date of November 2, which is a bit surprising because of a few factors.

First off, November 2 is a Wednesday, which goes against regular launch patterns which dictate that a game is released during a Tuesday in North America and on Friday in Europe.

Seeing as how Battlefield 3 will be a very big title, perhaps even the game of the year, at least according to EA CEO John Riccitiello, then it's probable that the company will push for the same worldwide release date.

What's even more peculiar is that this release date will put Battlefield 3 on the shelves about one week before the release of the next Call of Duty game, which is traditionally launched during the second week of November.

Many people expected Battlefield 3 to appear before the new Call of Duty, presumably Modern Warfare 3, but having just one week separating the games might be cutting it a bit too close.

As of yet, however, EA hasn't commented on the presumed leak, but until we hear it straight from the company, you'd better start saving up quite a lot of money for the beginning of November.

The new Call of Duty game, according to previous reports from last week, might be officially announced this month by its publisher, Activision.
