Battlefield 3 will get a massive patch today, November 27, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, in the form of update #5, which remedies all sorts of important issues, like lag on the PS3, and which fixes glitches on the Xbox 360.

Battlefield 3 recently received the Armored Kill expansion back in September and now, ahead of the release of the upcoming Aftermath add-on, developer DICE has just posted a rather big patch for the first-person shooter.

The update has already been detailed yesterday and now DICE has confirmed via its blog that it would be available for download later today, November 27, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

The new patch is mandatory on the PS3 but Xbox 360 users can choose whether they want to apply it. DICE, however, advises all owners of the Microsoft console to install the update in order to prevent any glitches from popping up.

The new patch will also be released on the PC platform in the near future, no later than December 4. It is mandatory and will be downloaded through EA's Origin service.
