DICE, the studio behind the recent Battlefield 3 first person shooter, has confirmed that it’s aware of the voice chat issues that are affecting the PlayStation 3 version of the game, but a solution has yet to be found.

Battlefield 3 impressed millions of gamers from all around the world with its great visuals and quality multiplayer. Sadly, there were quite a few issues, some that were addressed by recent patches, but also others that have now appeared.

Among the new ones are issues that plague the voice chat function on Battlefield 3’s PlayStation 3 version.

Quite a lot of angry gamers asked the Battlefield 3 Twitter account for explanations, so DICE confirmed that it is aware of these problems and that it’s “working to resolve them.”

“We're aware of the problems affecting VoIP and we're investigating causes and possible solution," the account said. "Thanks for your patience.”

Have you encountered any problems using Battlefield 3’s voice chat function on the PlayStation 3?

It is plain and simple, Dice should be giving back some money to the ps3 users because the chat in game is miserable at best!

yes i have encountered problems with voice chat since day one of release this is NOT a new issue this just has gone on long enough without a fix that people are either wanting it fixed or want there money back but of coarse game stores will not take the game back for retail.

It is a major problem. Clans/friends/etc. cannot communicate in-game. Many people have given up, traded the game in. Im holding on to the hope that this is fixed....and soon!

Everyone I know who plays BF3 on pS3 experience the same horrible VOIP issues. It's extremely aggravating to pay for a great game that you truly cannot enjoy. Antonio_Satriani

Heck yes I've encountered this problem. It's not like you can avoid it.

EVERY SINGLE PERSON on Battlefield 3 on PS3 comes through so broken that they have to repeat themselves at least 3 times before you can decipher what they were saying.

For a "team oriented" game, the ability to communicate is VITAL.
Unfortunately for DICE, this point seems to have eluded them.

I got frustrated enough that I put the game away.
I got an email from DICE saying "come back to the fight", claiming improvements have been made.
The entire match was the same issue I left the game over, I can't get an unbroken message from anyone, and replying is equally as futile.

Until they fix this issue, I'll be playing other games.
At least on other games I can hear what they're saying to me.
