DICE has just unveiled the first details about its upcoming Battlefield 3: Aftermath DLC, alongside the first trailer for the add-on and its actual release dates for various platforms.

Battlefield 3 came out last year and, since then, developer DICE has delivered a variety of add-ons that included new maps, weapons, vehicles, and much more.

Now, after the release of Armored Kill last month, the studio has unveiled the full list of details about Aftermath, the next expansion for the shooter.

The new add-on throws players into “all-new harrowing environment: The shattered districts, streets and cities of post-earthquake Iran. Players will struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation, with heavily modified vehicles and the all-new crossbow at their disposal,” according to the studio.

One of the chief additions brought forth by Aftermath is a new multiplayer mode called Scavenger, in which players must search the map for more powerful weapons.

“Battlefield 3: Aftermath features all multiplayer game modes from the base game, plus the all-new Scavenger mode. In Scavenger mode, lost soldiers start equipped with only a knife, one grenade, and sidearm and must search the environment for more powerful weapons to increase their chance at surviving and eventually winning.”

Just like with previous expansions for Battlefield 3, Aftermath will have a staggered release schedule, as it’ll first be released for PS3 users who are Premium members, then for Xbox 360 and PC Premium subscribers, then for regular PS3 users and finally for regular PC and Xbox 360 ones. Check out the expansion’s release dates below.

PlayStation 3 Premium members: November 27 Xbox 360 and PC Premium members: December 4 PlayStation 3 players: December 11 Xbox 360 and PC players: December 18

Battlefield Premium members get Aftermath for free while regular players can pay $15/€15/1200 MS Points for it.
