One of the most awaited games, Battlefield 2, was finally released at the end of the last month and everything seemed to be alright until more and more gamers have started to discover that the game had a lot of bugs, some of them quite serious.

Electronic Arts didn't lose any time and quickly issued the patch 1.01 aimed at solving the problems of the initial version. Unfortunately, while it
solved some of the bugs it was supposed to correct, Electronic Arts' patch created new ones, even more serious than the previous; one of the bugs caused the game to display the names of team members belonging to the same team with the same color as the enemies' names.

The problems proved to be serious enough to determine Electronic Arts to recommend the uninstall of the patch and of the game and reinstalling it using the CD or DVD.

Electronic Arts has assured the gamers that the reinstalling of the game will not have any effect on the results (points and medals) already obtained by them.

Anyway, Electronic Arts and DICE, the company that is handling the multiplayer part, found themselves in the awkward situation of issuing a one patch to repair the other.

Despite all these, the gamers' appetite for Battlefield 2 doesn't seem to have suffered and the game still occupies the first two positions in the US charts, the first being the DVD edition, and the second the CD one.
