PC shooter heads to Wii

The third person shooter PC game Battle Rage: The Robot Wars is going to get a bigger and better brother that will know how to run on the Nintendo Wii and use the innovative control methods. Developed by Data Design Interactive, the title doesn't have a certain release date specified, but judging from the awesomeness of the screenshots and the fact that the boxset is ready, too, we could estimate that we'll get the chance to play Battle Rage sooner rather than later.

The interesting thing about Battle Rage: The Robot Wars is the fact that, even though it is a third person shooter, it also has beat'em up gameplay features, allowing players to get close and personal with giant robots that can hardly wait for you to come and destroy them. Basically, you're thrown in an arena for a short but brutal skirmish and you'll have to fight alone against up to three opponents - or in a team against a common foe, if you wish. Even though each robot has its personal weapons (both for melee and distance combat), many other weapon types can be collected in the arena and used accordingly.

Of course, you won't have to start pointless battles unless you really want to - the developers will bring us a separate storyline for each of the robots, as well as many possibilities to customize our robots so that they'll fit our standards and style of play. And customization is always welcome, especially if we have in mind that the game only offers us eight different robots with 20 unique weapons and ten arenas. We would've loved much more, but you won't always get what you really want.

So, until further notice and an official launch date is set for the Wii version of Battle Rage: The Robot Wars, feel free to enjoy the first three screenshots released by the developers and also take a look at the box art in the upper left corner to know what you should be looking for in the future.
