Battle King Zartog as the Space Chimp

- Coming alongside the movie

By: Andrei Dumitrescu, Games Editor

Brash Entertainment has announced the release of Space Chimps, a new action adventure based on the Space Chimps film that is also bound to arrive sometime this summer, to be distributed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game draws inspiration from the setting of the film,
taking the characters and putting them in a new situation.

The main character is going to be Ham, one bright circus chimp. His dark secret is that he is a direct descendant of the first monkey that flew into space. He gets chosen to go into space himself, with fellow chimps Titan and Luna. Something goes wrong and they land on a hostile planet where the evil King Zartog is up to trouble. As expected, it falls on Ham to make sure that his chimp friends are safe and this leads to a full adventure.

The player will of course control Ham and direct him as he tumbles, jumps, climbs and swings like an ape across eleven levels of game. Most of the environments are taken out of the film, although the developers are also creating a few unique backgrounds especially for the videogame. Puzzles are complemented by action sequences and there are some small sections where you can control Luna. There will also be around 13 enemies that the player gets to fight.

Mitch Davis, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Brash Entertainment, stated that: "The Space Chimps film introduces a colorful cast of characters that fans will love. We’ve collaborated with Vanguard to create a game that incorporates the characters and world of the movie whilst adding a unique storyline with additional new characters, that will give fans the opportunity to live in the Space Chimp world a little longer".

The game will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. No chimp love for PlayStation 3.
