Battle Arena Toshinden 2 for the PlayStation is the sequel to Battle Arena Toshinden. As with its prequel it is a weapons-based 3D fighting game. Though the core gameplay remains unchanged the game adds a simple combo system: Light Attack, Hard Attack, Special move. Though several characters have a couple of unqiue combo's that break this rule. The 3D movement has also been altered to better balance it in
battle.
The Sega Saturn port by Takara is named Toh Shin Den U.R.A. and is the follow-up of Toh Shin Den S (ported by Sega). Another version of the PlayStation game was released in arcades by Capcom with altered music. After the Himitsu Kesha discovered that Gaia organized a Toshinden tournament behind their backs in order to start a rebellion, he was branded a traitor. Hence a new tournament is organized to lure him to his doom. Meanwhile one of Gaia's former co-workers put's the next stage of their plan into action. (Wikipedia)
CHEATS
Go to last boss: Press Up, Down, Up, Down, Up + Triangle at the title screen.
Remove display: Pause a fight. Hold Circle + Triangle + Square + X and press Select. This removes the continue, options and reset selections. While continuing to hold the four buttons, press Select again. This removes the Life and Over Drive bars. To return the display to normal, repeat the code while pressing Select once.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Camera control: Select control type "H2" in the options menu. Choose "Camera Action" and find the Your Self" option. Select a control type. L1, L2, R1, and R2 now control the camera angles. Start a fight and pause the game. Press Select when changing camera angles to toggle between rotate/tilt and zoom/pan.
New colors: Beat the game and display the random select box. Hold Select slow the cycling characters. Press Weak Punch or Weak Kick when your character appears to select outfits with two new color schemes.
Special move buttons on high difficulty: Enter the option menu from the title screen. Set the difficulty to level three. Use controller two and set player two's controls to all "Specials". Use controller one to increase the difficulty level. Start a one player game using controller two. The special move buttons may now be used at the chosen difficulty. If a two player game is played, player two will have the special buttons available on any difficulty level chosen.
