Warner Bros. Interactive and their partners at DC Entertainment have launched a new trailer for their Gotham City Impostors project, showing off the different styles of play that will be available to the two factions in the game.

The new game will not be tied directly to the main Batman franchise, which gets the Arkham City installment this fall, and will allow up to 12 players to engage in battles that will decide the fate of a version of Gotham city which is filled with weird versions of the Batman and his main nemesis, the Joker.

The customization options include both cosmetic elements linked to the costumes and a range of gadgets and weapons.

Gotham City Impostors will be launched during the early months of 2012 and will be initially available on the Xbox Live service from Microsoft and the PlayStation Network from Sony, with a PC version, presumably Steam powered, also planned.
