A Batmobile used in the original Batman TV series, airing from 1966 to 1968, has been put up for auction in Scottsdale.

This weekend's ceremony marks the 42nd annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event, and everyone is talking about the Batman mobile. It is expected to rack up a minimum of $5 M (€3.75M) from auto collectors.

The car was driven by Adam West, as the Bruce Wayne character. The 1955 Lincoln Futura was rebuilt in 15 days by George Barris, who currently owns it.

He invested $15,000 (€11,260) in remodeling it into a ride worthy of a superhero, I Motor Times writes. Museums, movie production companies with rights to the franchise as well as private collectors are expected to bid on this exclusive piece.
