The 6th Batman movie was a success. I can't point out exactly what could anyone like at Christopher Nolan's sordid movie but fact is he is to direct the following installment of the Batman history and everybody is looking forward to grabbing a part.
Josh Lucas is rumored to be the latest choice for the split personality half face human half face monster villain Harvey Dent/Two Face in the next Batman movie. The fact that it's only a rumor is well known by everyone, especially by Lucas himself, who declared: "I do want to do it, I love the rumor; please keep it up."
Before this rumor, February saw the raising of another one: Jake Gyllenhaal was being touted as Gotham City district attorney Harvey Dent along with Paul Bettany, who may play the Joker.
It seems that rumor was also wrong. Yet the few bits of info regarding the future Batman movie are to be considered as true: director Christopher Nolan is set to return, along with Christian Bale, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman and Michael Caine.
Few details about the plot were also revealed then: Batman would team up with Harvey Dent to destroy the Joker. (At least that's what moviehole.net. says.)
Another source, Hollywood.com has a rather different point of view: Philip Seymour Hoffman has replaced Bob Hoskins as the frontrunner for the role of The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot in the Batman Begins sequel, while The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy star Rockwell plans to fight it out with Paul Bettany, among others, for The Joker.
