Batman Vengeance is a videogame based on the Batman character from DC Comics and on the television series The New Batman Adventures. The game was created by
Ubisoft, which also published it, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics, that hold the intellectual rights to the character. It was published for the Xbox, the GameCube, the PlayStation 2, the Game Boy Advance and PCs. The game first appeared in 2001.
Batman faces one of the toughest periods in his career as a crime fighter. Apparently, all is well, as the Joker is killed while fighting against Batman - but a new wave of crimes erupts throughout Gotham and it seems that all of them are somehow connected. Batman is forced to become a fugitive and go underground after mysterious forces frame him for an attack on Police Commissioner Gordon. Obviously, he needs to find out who is behind all the attacks before the city is taken over.
The game looks very good and boasts a stellar voice cast, with most of the actors who voiced the animated series mentioned above also working for the game. The graphics are low key and try to transmit the feeling of insecurity that Batman is experiencing as his very existence is being threatened. Most critics agreed on the fact that the game managed to perfectly capture the general feel of the television show.
The gameplay combines different genres, mixing traditional platforming play with some vehicle based chases and combat sequences.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Flash bombs
Press Action + Guard to use flash bombs. They cannot be selected in the gadget/first person view.
Smoke bombs
In the level after the training, when you get to the area with a Joker thug, look around the big square. You will eventually find a ladder. Climb up the ladder, then look around for a box. Pick it up to get smoke bombs.
Hacking into Isaac Evers files
Find the second wire of the color you need (that is not powered). You need to make the powered wire reach the non-powered one. For example, if you work on blue, you need to connect the live blue wire to the dead one.
Blimp puzzle
Look in your inventory and examine the disc Batman picked up before fighting Mr. Freeze. It will reveal possible colors that work with the Blimp puzzle. The combination is Purple and Green. Make the color purple, "mix tubes", then make the color green.
