14 DAY TRIAL // If you’re a fan of DC Comics and have been waiting patiently for more details on Warner Bros.’ upcoming “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” film, it might be best to try and contain yourself: word online has it that the first official trailer for the film, which doesn’t come out until May 2016, has leaked online.
I have not been able to find it anywhere, but I did find a description of it: it differs from what was shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, which was just footage of Batman and Superman having a very intense stare-off in the pouring rain while dramatic music played.
MoviePilot says that Batman is the narrator in this first trailer and that he does voiceover over images of a Metropolis in ruins, which confirms online reports that the action takes place shortly after the events in “Man of Steel,” the first Superman reboot film.
A shot of his brand new Batsuit is also shown. “The world has changed with the arrival of the Kryptonians. Is Superman here to save us or to destroy us? I’m gonna find out,” Batman says.
So that means that, aside from Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), the film will have another villain (or sorts) in Superman. If online buzz is any indication, he might even be the big villain.
As per the same report, the trailer was posted on 4chan, but Reddit users are convinced that this is just a misunderstanding in the sense that the trailer was never online, just the description. After the description appeared on 4chan, everyone assumed it came with a trailer too, even though no one could find it.
“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams and Eisenberg. It’s directed by Zack Snyder, who also did “Man of Steel” and will return for “Justice League.” No estimate release date for the trailer has been given yet, so until we do get the actual thing (or at least that leaked video), there’s no knowing whether the above description is accurate.
