Warner Bros. has apparently decided to cancel the Batman: Arkham Origins DLC for the Wii U platform, and Nintendo has already begun offering refunds to those who got the game's Season Pass.

Batman: Arkham Origins appeared last year for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U, and developer Warner Bros. Montreal released quite a few new DLC packs, including new multiplayer content, while promising in the Season Pass description that a new story-based expansion is also coming.

Now, it seems that the single-player add-on won't appear on the Wii U, so Nintendo is now refunding those who got the Season Pass.

Customer support representatives from the company have begun sending emails to customers who purchased the Season Pass via the Wii U eShop, notifying them of the major change.

"We are contacting you today because you purchased the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass for Wii U. We hope you’ve been enjoying the content that has been delivered thus far. Based on demand for Downloadable Content on the system, Warner Bros. has made the decision to remove its offering of the upcoming new story campaign for Wii U," Nintendo said, via AGB.

"As a result, we will be crediting the entire $19.99+tax [€14.76+tax] cost of the Season Pass back to your Nintendo eShop account. You will still be able to enjoy the content already released thus far."

The Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass gave owners access to quite a lot of new content, including a special set of skins modeled after various incarnations of Batman (Gaslight, Brightest Day), but also to other skin packs like the Millennium one, not to mention new challenge rooms like the Initiation ones that starred Bruce Wayne.

It's still unclear when the new story DLC for Arkham Origins will appear for other platforms like the PC, PS3, or Xbox 360.
