The development team at Warner Bros. working on Batman: Arkham Origins is ready to reveal the multiplayer mode of the coming game, which will allow players to battle for control of the city of Gotham as Batman, Robin or members of the gangs of Joker and Bane.

The mode is created by the team at Splash Damage and will mix the traditional gameplay of the series with elements of a third-person shooter.

The team says, “Fans will even be able call in the ultimate reinforcement to help turn the tide in any match by playing as The Joker or Bane themselves.”

The multiplayer of the new Batman game will include a progression system for characters and it seems that players will be able to work together to defeat their foes.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be launched on the PC, the Wii U, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on October 24.
