Video game developer Rocksteady and publisher Warner Bros. have already announced that Batman: Arkham Knight will have a Season Pass and they are now ready to offer more details about the content that gamers who pick it up will be able to enjoy.

The two companies explain that the core story linked to the video game series will not be expanded upon, but that they have plans to add six months worth of new experiences for the biggest fans of the series.

The official forum announcement states, "We’ve heard from our community that you want more information on what we’ll be delivering in the Season Pass. While we aren’t ready to unveil every aspect of the content we’ll be developing, we would like to share more detail now to give you a better sense of the scope of the Season Pass."

The biggest addition to Batman: Arkham Knight will be called Batgirl: A Matter of Family and will allow gamers to explore a new location and another prequel narrative.

Batgirl will be playable for the first time in the series, but the developers are not ready to talk about the story they are planning to tell or about the skills and the gadgets that the new character will have access to.

Batman himself is also getting access to more story missions, with Season of Infamy tasking players to battle legendary villains that are attacking Gotham City, with new gameplay features planned.

A Stories DLC will allow gamers to play as allies of the main character, although no names have yet been offered.

Batman: Arkham Knight is also getting more traditional DLC

The Legendary Batmobiles with the Themed Tracks package is designed to introduce the most important vehicles from the 75-year history of the character, with custom built racing tracks.

However, it seems that there's no option to use the new special cars in the single-player campaign.

Crimefighter challenge maps are also coming to Batman: Arkham Knight, with fans able to tackle them as both the main character and his allies.

Warner Bros. and Rocksteady are also planning to introduce special character skins for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman, drawn from all comic book eras.

Batman: Arkham Knight is set to be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on June 23 of this year, after a series of delays.
