The official Batman: Arkham Knight Facebook page has been updated with some new information on the story of the upcoming action adventure title.

Batman: Arkham Knight has been impressing gamers ever since it was announced, slowly building hype for the title's launch next year. The Arkham Knight is a villain out on a quest to capture Batman, wearing a suit similar to Bruce's own and commanding an army of henchmen.

The first post shows the Arkham Knight issuing the order to commence "Operation Savior," the entire premise of the game. He intends to lock down Gotham using his army of goons, and to gain control of the entire metropolis.

"I want our hands wrapped tight around Gotham's throat within the hour," the Arkham Knight says.

In a follow-up post, we see Commissioner Gordon giving the order for the cops to retreat to GCPD and leave everything to Batman, as the police is ill-equipped to deal with the bad guys' tanks roaming the city streets.

The upcoming game will enable players to jump into the iconic Batmobile for the first time in the series, and it appears that the vehicle's assault mode will come in handy when it comes to dealing with the Knight's armored division.

Batman: Arkham Knight is currently scheduled to come out sometime during 2015, for Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
