14 DAY TRIAL // Batman: Arkham Knight's official strategy guide has just been listed online, and a few preview images confirm some pretty big surprises. Apparently, there will be different endings, depending on how many side missions players have completed, and a mention of the Knightfall protocol has also been made.
Batman: Arkham Knight is set to release later this month all around the world. So far, developer Rocksteady has offered quite a few interesting details about the upcoming game, detailing brief aspects of its story, mechanics, or characters.
It's also released plenty of different videos and screenshots, showcasing more impressive things from the action-adventure experiences.
New details leak via the official guide
Over the weekend, as found by users on Reddit, the official strategy guide for Batman: Arkham Knight was listed on Apple's iTunes marketplace, and a few preview images accompanied it, as you can see in the gallery below.
While some of the photos confirm the presence of new and returning henchmen for Batman to take out, others reveal that there are multiple endings, depending on how many side missions you complete.
First up, it seems that there are 14 side missions in total, and 11 culminate with Batman capturing an Arch villain and taking him or her to the Gotham City Police jail. If players capture all their enemies, the ending can then be summoned by initiating the Knightfall protocol. If you do such a thing without capturing all the enemies, only a part of the full ending is revealed.
Batman might get injured and replaced
The Knightfall protocol, in case you're not familiar with the lore of the Batman universe, might hint to a serious injury for the Caped Crusader. In the comics, Knightfall and its related stories culminate with Batman's back being crushed by Bane. Afterwards, he's replaced for a limited time by other allies, until he returns to fighting shape.
It's possible that the end of the game, or some part of it, could showcase Batman losing to one of his villains, maybe even the all-new character Arkham Knight.
