Batman: Arkham City is set to feature, besides The Dark Knight, other characters like Catwoman, so its developer, Rocksteady Studios, has revealed a few more details about the interactions between the main protagonist and these other heroes or villains.

Batman: Arkham City is set to arrive later this year from Rocksteady, so the UK-based developer is really throwing in lots of characters from the Batman comic books, including Catwoman, Robin, or Talia Al Ghul, as well as villains like Dr. Hugo Strange, The Riddler, or Two-Face.

Batman will interact with all of them, while some will provide some unique experiences, especially Catwoman, who will be playable during certain segments of the game.

Talking with Siliconera, Arkham City writer Paul Dini talked about the special relationship between Batman and Catwoman in the game.

"I'd say it's pretty true to their current relationship or what everybody thinks of their relationship," he said. "There is a lot of heat between them, we're not going to take it really beyond that in a soap opera way. There is affection, mutual esteem, and there is also a lot of stubbornness. Like, if you don't do what I'm going to say we're going to fight now."

While sparks will fly, the actual game's story won't hint at any romantic endeavors for The Dark Knight and his female companions.

"There's always going to be that heat between them and yet there is always going to be friction between them because when it comes down to it they have different methodology on how they solve a problem. For as much as they feel for each other, one's on this side of the law and the one's on the other side of the law. They can kind of hold hands over that side, but that's about as far as we take it in this one. That said there's a lot of action."

It's worth noting that Batman will also interact not just with Catwoman in the game, but also with another female presence, in the form of Talia Al Ghul, another long time love interest for the comic book superhero.

Batman: Arkham City is set to appear on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 18.
