BatKid, a child with leukemia whose parents set out to give him the ultimate Batman fantasy, got to save the city of San Francisco as it transformed into Gotham.

5-year-old cancer patient Miles received the key to the city from the mayor, or, in this case, Ed Lee, and he definitely got to be a hero for a day.

BatKid's dream came true with the help of the Make-A-Wish foundation. Their campaign to help Miles went viral, and thousands responded to the call for action and came to San Francisco for him.

Patricia Wilson, the rep for the foundation in the Greater Bay Area, welcomed 11,000 to 12,000 volunteers.

According to Seattle Pi, the San Francisco Chronicle issued a special edition called the “Gotham City Chronicle,” which can be read by clicking on the image attached to this news article.

The adventure started off with Miles watching a TV report at 9:30 a.m. Inquisitr detailed that the police chief asked if BatKid could help them “bring the bad guys to justice.”

NBC Miami reported that he also got to chase the Penguin through the streets of Gotham and capture the Riddler while he was robbing a bank. He didn't do it alone, he received a little help from Batman himself.

The paper documents the exploits of BatKid. His dreams came to life on Friday and he got to rescue a “damsel in distress,” tied onto cable car tracks on Hyde Street.

The Chronicle featured articles written by “Clark Kent” and “Lois Lane,” impersonated by Managing Editor Audrey Cooper.

“It’s great to print nice news for a change, and Lois Lane was happy to come out of retirement for this special assignment,” she says.
