We really liked Bastion, Supergiant Games’ downloadable hack and slash title, both on the Xbox 360 as well as on the PC, but the studio has now brought the title, which we recently awarded with the Best Downloadable Game of the Year prize, into the Google Chrome web browser.

Playing games in browsers is nothing new, as we were always treated with lots of interesting experiences running in Adobe’s Flash Player technology.

Google, however, wants to change things up, without requiring plugins or other add-ons to play games in your browser. As such, through its Native Client technology and through Supergiant Games’ efforts, Bastion is now fully playable right in Chrome.

All you need to do is visit this page, download the Bastion web app, let it download some necessary files that occupy around 40MB of space, and you’ll be playing the great downloadable title in no time. You can try out a free trial, at first, and then purchase the full title to pick right up from where you left off.

We already tried out the game for ourselves and found it works quite smoothly, even if it’s still not the same as the one on Steam or the Xbox 360. Still, you can try it out for free and then share your thoughts in a comment below.
