Bastion, the indie hit that put developer Supergiant Games on the map of influential studios, launches today on PS4 in North America. The European version as well as the PS Vita edition is set to also debut this year.

Bastion arrived way back in 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms, delivering an intense isometric action-adventure brawler with a compelling story, a gorgeous visual style, and a dynamic narrator that took the game to new heights.

Since then, developer Supergiant Games brought the title to more devices and even released its second title, Transistor, last year, earning even more acclaim.

Bastion is coming to PS4 & PS Vita

Now, the studio confirms on the PS blog that it's teamed up with Spanish developer BlitWorks to bring Bastion onto the PS4 and PS Vita platforms. Unfortunately, the release schedule is a bit complex, to say the least.

First up, Bastion launches today, April 7, for the PS4 as a digital game on the North American PS Store, once it gets updated. Unfortunately, European PS4 users will have to wait until the Spring Fever promotion starts in the following weeks to get their hands on the remastered title.

The PS Vita version, while confirmed in the trailer below, hasn't received any actual details, so it seems that it will debut this year but that more work is still needed until a proper announcement is made.

Even so, Supergiant Games confirms that the PS4 version will delight fans even after all these years as it runs at a 1080p native resolution and a 60fps framerate, guaranteeing gorgeous visuals and responsive action. There's also a Platinum trophy for those who want to unlock and complete all facets of the new game.
