Yahoo Search is more popular these days because the giant portal is really trying to keep it in the spotlights with numerous improvements, announcements and stories. This time it is really a Yahoo Search update concerning the upcoming NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the company including new data to be displayed on the search engine. You are now able to search Yahoo for your favorite team and view seed numbers, game times and even real time scores.

"For fans (and for those of you with skin in the game), we added a new shortcut to Yahoo! Search that provides a quick and easy way to stay on top of the games. We've included seed numbers, game times, and when the games are in play, real-time scores. If you prefer, you can use our existing score shortcuts to get updates on a particular team," Carlos Teran, Product Manager, Yahoo Search, sustained on the official blog of the company.

The new improvement is actually a search engine shortcut that allows users to view useful information using a simple keyword related to the basketball tournament. For example, try searching for UCLA score and you should be able to view the latest score recorded by the team.

In the past, Yahoo made several improvements over the way the shortcuts work because it is very important for a user to view all the information he needs into a single page returned by the search engine. The first shortcut released by Yahoo was especially designed for movies, allowing the users to view the cast, reviews or other information about the movie straight from the main page of the search engine. The shortcuts are somehow similar to the hidden commands included in Google, enabling you to do math operations or even find flight information.
