It appears that launching new products is not all that is happening on the market, as certain devices seem to be nearing the end of their lives, like a certain device form Barnes and Noble.

Barnes and Noble is known for being a very large bookstore chain, possessing a very encompassing collection of tomes of various sorts.

With the focus on the digital medium, however, and the dwindling number of readers, the company decided to enter the e-reader and e-book market.

The first Nook e-reader was unleashed in late 2009 and was immediately faced with shortages and delivery troubles because demand went far beyond expectations.

By the second quarter of 2010, B&N managed to act on its orders and began to put together newer versions of the Nook, so as to stay up to date as rivals advanced their own offerings.

Granted, Amazon's Kindle line still reigned supreme, but the Nook didn't do too badly either, a testament to how people still enjoy reading as a pastime.

One of the existing models of the device is the Nook 3G, and it seems that this very members of its maker's collection is set to be phased out.

Nook 3G was B&N's first Nook-branded e-reader and has been said to be on the verge of joining the ranks of discontinued products.

As revealed by Engadget, Barnes and Noble advised its retail partners against ordering bulk quantities, as there simply will not be enough of them.

In other words, sales of the Nook 3G will only continue for as long as there are still models left in their supplier's inventory. No new ones will be manufactured.

The official website has the product, priced at $199. Once it is exhausted, only the WiFi and Nookcolor will remain up for sale. Those looking for any sort of information need only go here.
