Now that the winter holidays are approaching, people are bound to buy all sorts of presents, so B&N figured it would be a good idea to offer an extra reason for everyone to look at the Nook Color and Nook Tablet.

Nook Color was and still is advertised as a color e-reader, but its hardware and software are those of a tablet. The Nook Tablet is the full-featured slate.

From now on, these two devices will be cheaper. The Nook Color will sell for $139 / 108-139 Euro ($10 / 8-10 Euro less than before), while the Nook Tablet will ship for $20 / 15-20 Euro less than before.

That means $159 / 124-159 Euro for 8GB storage and $179 / 140-179 Euro for 16 GB.

“Just in time for the holidays, these new lower prices make NOOK a great gift for anyone in the family,” said Jamie Iannone, president of digital products at Barnes & Noble.
