It's a bit early for Christmas presents, but we doubt people will mind

Not long ago, Barnes & Noble said that the Nook product line, made up for e-readers and tablets, would be phased out completely.

Now, though, it is implied that the company isn't going to admit defeat just yet. Either that, or it means to go out with a bang.

Since Nook actually sold decently well, B&N may be betting on the brand one last time.

In its latest financial report, it says that new Nook products are definitely planned. Its commitment to Nook is being “confirmed” in fact, so we can look forward to updates both on the device and on the content sides of the business.

“The company intends to continue to design and develop cutting-edge NOOK black and white and color devices,” said Michael P. Huseby, president of Barnes & Noble.

“We will continue to offer our award-winning line of NOOK products including NOOK Simple Touch, NOOK Simple Touch with Glow Light, NOOK HD and NOOK HD+ at the best values in the marketplace.”
