The singer and actress Barbra Streisand has been an active campaigner for awareness on the consequences of climate change since the early 1980s and now she decided upon the first charity that is to get money, raised from ticket sales on her tour.
After a prolonged absence from the music scene, Streisand is currently trying to make a dramatic comeback and to raise money with her tour, money that will be later donated to various charities. The tour will last from October to November and most of the cashing will go to organizations dealing with environmental, women's health and educational issues.
Meanwhile, Barbra set her mind on which is going to be the first charity of this type that will receive funds: former President Bill Clinton's pet charity, Climate Change Initiative. The organization focuses on the reducing of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide and it will receive the first $1 million from ticket sales.
While the singer's pledge is very worthy of praise, fans are still unsatisfied about the fact that they were misled into believing that the 1994 concerts were actually 'farewell shows'. They are set to boycott Barbra's tour and a few dates from it had to be canceled because people refused to buy tickets for it.
