After more than a decade of retirement from the music stage, the actress/singer Barbra plans an US tour in all major cities, starting in October and November 2006, in order to raise money and people's awareness concerning climate changes, health and education issues.
The Oscar winning actress and Grammy awarded singer declared that, although she never stopped singing (in fact, her spokesperson told the press that she also had a couple of concerts in 2001), the decision to tour again came after realizing that problems such as mentioned above need constant attention and practical solutions.
And even if this means a lot of stress for the 64-year-old artist, who hasn't been on a tour since 1994, after holding 2 farewell concerts in Madison Square, it is worth all the effort.
The money raised will be distributed through The Streisand Foundation for supporting those causes that concern the artist and in which she has been an active campaigner ever since her young years.
