Barbra Streisand, One Ugly Old Lady!No wonder her shows won't sell anymore! |
|
|

After a period of indulging in all kinds of sweets and other nutritional aliments, like the all too popular junk-food, the Oscar winning actress and singer has pulled something which we can easily call 'a Janet Jackson'. She has gained a lot of weight but, unlike the pop icon, she can't seem to shake off all those extra pounds. And, by the looks of things, she isn't able to find a comb or some make-up to throw on her face before getting out of the house. Earlier this week, Barbra Streisand stepped out to oversee the works on the construction site of her new home in Los Angeles. She shocked the world by looking that unkempt and disgraceful.
The positive side of Barbra's image is the fact that, now, we all understand why people don't want to buy tickets for her concerts; for her second 'farewell' tour, as a matter of fact. Because, when you're such a big star as she is, you can easily afford to retire twice from the music industry... Nevertheless, we do appreciate the French manicure she is sporting. It's very stylish and totally in tone with her new 'witchy' look.

| Comment #1 by: Scott on 31 Dec 2008, 03:57 GMT | reply to this comment | At nearly 67 years old, Barbra Streisand is one of the greatest ladies of stage, screen and voice of our time. Like most critics, you should be half the person that she is before you criticize! |
| Comment #2 by: Sharon on 26 Apr 2009, 04:11 GMT | reply to this comment | shame on you. Even overweight she can belt out a song like no other. Anyone with that kind of stamina to perform for us, is to be admired. We have always love Streisand for her voice, anything beyond that is just cream on the sundae. |
| Comment #3 by: jon on 03 Jul 2009, 06:16 GMT | reply to this comment | i think that most critics poke fun at barbra streisand because their insensative ,revolting, sick to your stomach peole and news flash SHES 67 its not easy losing weight at that age. never mind what she looks like unless you write hit songs, direcit, produce, star in movies, and hit insane high notes SHUT UP.

| Comment #4 by: Wally on 03 Aug 2009, 08:10 GMT | reply to this comment | How care how heavy she is as long as she is appy and she can sing like no other female performer and she is and always been loved by many people. I have loved her for years and still do! |
| Comment #5 by: Shorty on 23 Sep 2009, 20:14 GMT | reply to this comment | She does look like hell. My mother is 68 and doesn't even look close to that. She's a has been like Celine Dion. They should leave her alone and hopefully she will go away and retire quietly |
| Comment #6 by: shorty on 23 Sep 2009, 20:15 GMT | reply to this comment | A lot of people can sing better than she can. |
| Comment #7 by: Diane on 24 Sep 2009, 23:58 GMT | reply to this comment | So, Elana, you enjoy helping people (so says your bio). And do you also enjoy putting people down, not because of what they do, but what they look like?
This is what you envisioned when you decided to become a writer? It's one thing to criticize others for altruistic reasons-- I cannot imagine what your reason could be. |
| Comment #8 by: christina on 25 Sep 2009, 01:04 GMT | reply to this comment | Watched Barbra on Oprah today. She looked fantastic. How do you look when you get up, no make up, etc.......Give me a break. Her voice can not be beater..... |
| Comment #9 by: ladychameleon on 27 Sep 2009, 14:28 GMT | reply to this comment | It's a shame that you would trash an icon like Barbra. There's enough negative press and talk about everybody in this world today. It's easy to trash talk someone. How about saying something nice for a change?
And by the way, Barbra was at her own house; why should she have to put on makeup and get dolled up - do you, on a Sunday morning? |
| Comment #10 by: MJ on 28 Sep 2009, 19:47 GMT | reply to this comment | You should be ashamed of yourself Elena. Why would it matter what she looks like her voice is what sold us. You and other people like yourself should not have the rights of a pen nor public offerings. Wonder what you look like without makeup or your hair done.
Can you only imagine how this Headline may have hurt her feelings? Oh that's right you don't care.
You are a disgrace to any publication. |
| Comment #11 by: Elena Gorgan on 02 Oct 2009, 15:16 GMT | reply to this comment | @ALL: The above article – aside from the fact that it dates back to 2006 (although that in itself is not an excuse) – is listed in the Fashion Police category, where the focus is on looks and fashion alone. This is how come Barbra Streisand came to be included here. In no way do (did) I put her down for her music and her countless achievements in both music and film. Ms. Streisand is a wonderful artist with a lot of influence, a brilliant career and a strong fanbase (as all your comments show) but, as far as this article is concerned, she did have a horrible day. This said, my apologies to all those who have found offense in it, and rest assured that was not the intention behind it. Thank you all for your comments. |
| Comment #12 by: lianne gold on 02 Oct 2009, 20:31 GMT | reply to this comment | well i am sitting here watching Barbara on jonathan ross show and she has an absolute beauty about her, she is very very subtle and classy of course not a traditional beauty but i am sure in 30 years time you will be saying the same about jennifer aniston which barbara has a distinct look of. What a very nice truthful and unaffected lady, and oh my gosh what beautiful hands. I think she is very beautiful actually with a certain grace about her. |
| Comment #13 by: Ray on 02 Oct 2009, 20:59 GMT | reply to this comment | What a sad person you are, Barbara has given the world some of the best music ever and what have you done for anyone that can compare, absolutely nothing and you have the audacity to critisize because you have no talent to do anything else!!!!!!! |
| Comment #14 by: Pat on 11 Oct 2009, 21:08 GMT | reply to this comment | Barbara's music has stood the test of time. Many generations have enjoyed her music. In her acting, she certaily does not mind people having a laugh at her expense and she laughs too. She is a true entertainer. |
