One of the most appreciated dolls in the history of mankind is, without a single doubt, Barbie, the blonde doll created by Ruth Handler in 1959. Since then, the pretty Barbie has grown up and became increasingly more trendy in her look, clothes, accessories and boyfriends.
But, even if it's OK for the 46-year-old teenager to flaunt her legs and breasts, the toy maker Mattel will not allow her honor to be tarnished by paintings implying that she is lesbian. And that's just what the Brazilian artist Karin Schwartz did, by exhibiting one of her paintings in a small Brazilian town.
'Amazing Girls' (the title of the art work) shows Barbie kissing and getting at it with another female doll and the very sight of the painting appalled the Mattel representatives. They immediately asked the artist to remove the painting from the exhibition within the next 24 hours or else he was to face charges for sullying the good name of Barbie.

But Schwartz answered back and said that it's not her work the one that trashes Barbie, but the very people from Mattel. 'Barbie is exploited by Mattel. She wears a bikini, she shows off her belly, she has big breasts, and even has a boyfriend', she said.
Hearing this, a spokesperson for Mattel retaliated: 'Barbie is a very proper lady and she is not happy about being portrayed as something that she isn't. We are going to sue and we hope that this teaches people a lesson. Also, Barbie is 46 years old, she should be respected!'. Indeed, she should.
