There was a time in the early days of the USB storage when everything looked very serious and technically-correct. Well, no more! Today's USB storage devices have surpassed those rather gloomy and dull days and are pedaling fast to embed their chips in the funniest and most unusual objects anyone could think of. From the elegant, high-price and all blinged-up drives down to the silliest toys, anyone can surely find their fav USB gadgets; even more, thanks to the advancing technology, the smaller the chips are, the bigger their available storage space is, and this means more gigabytes in virtually anything.

A very interesting collection of weird shapes chosen as hosts for USB storage chips can be found here; but what's yet to come is even funnier.

A possible begining for a USB

I assume almost everybody likes stick figures and everyone knows Barbie, the latest in USB at Brando mixes these two iconic contemporary elements and the result is as funny as useful, indeed. First of all, there is the USB handbag drive, with 8 GB available storage and coming in five daring and bright colors: blue, yellow, green, red and everybody's favorite, the pink version. This drive looks exactly like one of Barbie's purses and can be split in two halves, one containing the memory and the other being the dust cap. They retail for a very attractive $36 price, yet come with a strong recommendation not to bring the dolls with you at work or try to see which color Barbie likes more.

The second and hilariously-amusing USB device is a proper stick figure, named the Superkid. Fun all the way if you ask me, because we're talking about a very real toy in the shape of a stick figure, with moving arms and feet which can be freely bent and thus allowing all sorts of possible poses.

The Superkid comes with the same generous 8 GB available storage and USB 2.0 speed, but in only three colors: green, yellow and blue. The neat thing is that the Superkid can definitely wear the said handbag! Imagine such a wonderful situation: you get 16 GB USB storage, some toys and the surprised look on the face of your work mates noticing a smiling green head plugged in your notebook. The Superkid retails for $38.

Now, the color choice is completely yours, of course. Have fun with your new toys and see that Ken doesn't get jealous.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
