They often say that Adam Lambert is destined for greatness, which would, of course, translate into a successful career while also managing to breathe new life into the music industry. If one asks Barbara Walters, the famous television personality, she would probably agree to that as well, especially since she just named the American Idol runner-up as one of this year’s most fascinating people, as the Examiner can confirm.

Whatever Adam Lambert does these days is certain to grab headlines, and we’re not necessarily talking about causing a controversy with his performance at the American Music Awards 2009, which, for many, was more than what they could stomach. With an incredible voice, talent to spare and, most importantly, fearlessness and a certain ability that makes him very endearing with all kinds of audiences, Adam Lambert is undoubtedly the hottest pop / rock star of the moment.

Barbara Walters agrees. “Adam Lambert has made quite a splash over the course of the past several months, and Barbara Walters has taken host. The popular anchor, known for both ‘20/20’ and ‘The View,’ has identified the American Idol runner-up as one of her ‘10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.’ Lambert is certainly in good company, as some of the other subjects include NFL star Brett Favre, reality fixture Kate Gosselin, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and Lady Gaga, who helped co-write a song for Lambert’s ‘For Your Entertainment’,” the Examiner writes.

As the e-zine also notes, Adam is in very good company, Lady Gaga also making the list of Walters’ fascinating people for the year that is about to end. The television personality has already interviewed both Adam and Gaga, with the special show, “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009” being scheduled to air next Wednesday, December 9, on ABC. The first promo shots with Gaga and Lambert have already been released, and are included in this article.

Meanwhile, Adam Lambert is keeping his fans up to date with everything in his life via his Twitter page. Speaking of the AMAs controversy, one point that he’s trying to make is that it was a one-time event and that he’s heading in a different direction now. “AMA performance was a one time event. Goin in a new direction now. Focus back on the music. Don’t worry friends: I’m still gonna be me. Always. W/o appologies. Just gonna experiment differently w how I present myself. I’m learning. :)” Adam tweeted just hours ago.
