He practices when he gets the chance

Last year's presidential race was one of the most animated ones we've seen in quite some time. The two candidates, the Democrat Barack Obama and the Republican John McCain, battled for each North American's vote and did so by making some very interesting decisions.

One of the most innovative and risky measures was the one taken by the former, who chose to have his ads appear in the hit car racing and crashing game Burnout Paradise. Part of a contract signed by his election team and Electronic Arts, the owner of the rights to advertise in the game, it caused quite a lot of controversy, which, in the end, made Obama the clear winner and the future president of the United States.

But now it seems that the soon-to-be-invested president is also fond of other gaming activities, as he revealed to the New York Times that he bought his daughters a Nintendo Wii for Christmas and he was quite fond of Wii Bowling, a mini-game found in the Wii Sports package bundled with the extremely popular Japanese console.

“Mr. Obama said he’d have his hands full attempting to rescue the American economy. But he has gotten in a little practice in bowling lately on the Nintendo Wii his daughters received for Christmas. Mr. Obama, who famously struggled in bowling during last year’s Democratic primaries, said he performs better in the video game,” reads the official article published by the New York Times.

Although this might seem a bit odd, let's not forget that the Wii demographic is very varied, with people of all ages playing on the small white console. Needless to say, this might make a lot of gamers feel that they weren’t wrong in giving their votes to Obama, and that between the tough decisions he must make, he also finds the time to play a game.
