It really does pay to be the President of the United States and the Commander in Chief. According to the show's producers, Mr. President has received advanced copies of at least some of the episodes of the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones,” because why not.

When the president calls you up and says that he's a fan, he's not paying you a compliment but he's telling you straight up that he wants to know what happens next, and pronto. In an interview with Vanity Fair, which featured some of the main cast on its latest cover, “Game of Thrones” co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss confirmed that Obama gets early screeners of the episodes.

“Windolf also asks Benioff and Weiss about the recent rumors that President Obama receives screeners of the show to watch before the general public. In an e-mail, they jointly reply, “One perk of being the most powerful man in the world: yes, you get to see episodes early,”” the article in Vanity Fair reads.

The rumors popped up last month when it was reported that the White House had called HBO and asked for early copies so Obama could binge-watch over the Presidents' Weekend. But for a man who is responsible with keeping the country and the world's biggest secret, it's generally accepted that he won't be giving away any spoilers any time soon.

Also in the interview, there is another interesting aspect worth mentioning: the fact that the show's creators already know how the books are going to end, despite the fact that the author hasn't written a word of the final two books.

As you can read in the article, Benioff and Weiss actually went to George Martin's home and sat down with him and walked through the entire storyline, at least what he plans to write in broad lines, because he hasn't started work on the last two books yet.

The show's production team and indeed a large number of fans are worried that time is running out for Martin as the TV show is advancing much faster than he is writing, which means that they will eventually keep up with him.

Let's hope that doesn't mean that there will a hiatus after the next seasons to allow the author to put out new material. The fourth season of “Game of Thrones” is set to premiere on April 6 on HBO.
