Banshee, an open source multimedia solution to play music, videos, podcasts and Internet radio, is now at version 2.4.0.

According to the developers, Banshee 2.4.0 is the the culmination of six months' work, bringing new great features and a lot of improvements, such as:

· DVD playback support is now available; · User can now display the genres in years, in a browser, in addition to the artists and album; · UPnP support was introduced and users can now play music or videos shared over your local network by a UPnP device; · Muinshee received some improvements; · FreeBSD support was enables for MusicBrainz; · Use one single directory for Last.fm caching; · Values for the Smiley Face equalizer preset were updated.
